Outreach and Fellowship
St Luke's Church does not exist in a vacuum. We are a great deal more than the Sunday services. Of course, each Sunday we draw together to worship God, and this gives us all a chance to share and grow together. But there is also much else that happens during the week: both within the church and also beyond as part of our desire to reach out into the world, to spread the Good News of the Gospels.
Mission and Outreach are two ways of describing the same thing: to be in the world, and to transform it. As Jesus said at the end of the St Matthew's Gospel, in the great commission: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20).
How do we fulfil this commision?
- By proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom
- By teaching, baptising and nurturing new believers
- By responding to human need through loving service
- By seeking to transform unjust structures of society
- By striving to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustaining the life of the earth

Our parish directory is woefully out of date. The last one was produced almost four years ago. An up to date directory is vital, so we need to know that your information is correct. If you have started coming to St Luke’s since 2006, or have changed any of your details since then, please let us know. Over the coming weeks there will be a form at the back of the church for you to enter your details. Since we last updated the directory, a great many more people have acquired email addresses. It would be great to have emails as well as phone numbers, so please leave details if you can. Email
