Pray for... (next 3 days)

Prayer Diary

Prayer was behind all that Jesus did and who he is, and as his body here on earth, it can be the same for us. We can become involved in what God is doing in his world and in our church as we pray for each other.

This is a prayer diary for St Luke’s. Against each day of the month, a St Luke’s activity is named and briefly described. It is suggested that this activity, particularly the leader(s), and the persons engaged in it, might be the focus of prayer on a given day. We can use this diary as part of our personal prayer, but we will know as we do that many others in the church will be praying for the same people. Although we will be praying on our own, we will in a sense be praying together.

In a famous passage in his Letter to the Philippians, the Apostle Paul said this: ‘Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus’.

Part of the peace which God promises is that we can give to him everything that is on our minds. We hope that this prayer diary will help to pray for all parts of our church, enabling us to give to God continually our church and our life together, being renewed by God and made more and more in his image. God invites us to be involved in his abundant life together.
